Development Summer Camp
The Adventure
For the months of July and August, students will strengthen their reading skills by studying U.S. history in a fun and engaging way. At the end of every week, there will be a day-long field trip to a historical site in Virginia.
- Explore history: Learn about native Virginian U.S. presidents
- Embark on a journey: enjoy visiting some of Richmond’s historical sites.
- Enjoy individualized and group learning: Receive 20 hours of instruction dedicated to developing a better command of English
- Gain confidence: This program is designed to help our students improve academically and develop leadership skills.
Explore Safely: We are taking extensive precautions for safety and will postpone if necessary.
Program Requirements
- Camper must be in middle or high school
- Camper must be registered in the program to attend
- Must be eligible for free or reduced lunch
- Campers must communicate academic challenges and needs on the application

We are currently taking the application for Summer of 2021. To ensure the safety of our campers as well as to satisfy demand each session will be one week long. There will be the option to sign up for the morning slot or the afternoon slot. Campers in the morning session will be fed breakfast and lunch. Campers in the afternoon session will be fed lunch and a snack before returning home.
