Academic Resource Support and Services
Academic Software
There are many educational tools that can benefit students, but not all of them are accessible due to financial limitations. Fortunately, the Open Source Community offers free software that can help.
The software featured on this website is created by members of the community and can be downloaded and used for personal or non-profit purposes under various free use licenses. Our goal is to continually expand our collection of educational tools, from Pre-K to Ph.D. level education. We welcome your suggestions for new additions to the list, as we aim to provide the tools that students need to succeed.
Academic resource center
Our Academic Resource Center and Services Page is intended to provide parents and students with support, advocacy, and access to academic resources. We prioritize a community-centered approach that is specifically focused on K-12 students. The goal of our organization is to help students succeed academically by offering meaningful interventions at every stage of their education. We believe that academic support is essential for all learners, and we strive to help students develop the skills they need to manage competing demands, deal with setbacks, and approach challenging situations with enthusiasm, both in and outside the classroom.
Mentoring Reading Program
We have developed a program that is led by teenagers but supervised by adults to support secondary school students with their academic needs. Our program offers volunteer opportunities that bring together international and native-born citizens to work on improving communication skills, promoting diversity, enhancing vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension skills, all while striving for academic success. Participants will also learn new and effective test-taking strategies.
Furthermore, we offer an SOL Support service that is tailored to meet the needs of English Language Learners (ELL) in secondary schools. Our unique literacy-tutoring program helps these students improve their language skills and succeed academically.
Summer Camp
The Adventure
For the months of July and August, students will strengthen their reading skills by studying U.S. history in a fun and engaging way. At the end of every week, there will be a day-long field trip to a historical site in Virginia.
